Bulova Watches

Bulova Watch Company was founded in 1875 by Joseph Bulova in New York, and became part of the Loews Corporation in 1979. Bulova has made a number of innovations in watch making, including the Accutron watch which uses resonating tuning forks to regulate the time keeping function.

Bulova also produced the first real electronic watch, developed by Max Hetzel, but are perhaps most famous for developing the “moon watch”, the “Omega Speedmaster Professional” which was worn by Buzz Aldrin and designated by NASA for use by astronauts in all space missions.

As a perfect tale of Bulova’s quality, a Bulova watch that was lost overboard by a sailor in 1941 was found and returned to its original owner 67 years after, in 2008, still working.

Bulova manufactures many different models, including it’s namesake “Bulova”, price-friendly “Caravelle”, dressy “Wittnauer Swiss”, and sporty “Accutron”.
