Rolex is known for many innovations, including being the first to make a waterproof watch case and include a date display on the dial. Also, Rolex Watch Company was the first to include an additional timezone on its dial and was a key participant on the research and development of quartz watches.

To test their watche’s quality, Rolex had one of their watches attached to the research craft when descending to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. The watch kept perfect time throughout the 11,000 meter journey and came up working perfectly. You can find Rolex watches made specifically for deep sea diving, mountain climbing, and aviation.
